My business
Having started at an early age, performing administrative
duties during school holidays for the family firm,
an innovative knit company in Brazil called Matric,
I obtained wide-ranging knowledge of the various
aspects of the textile industry, from manufacturing
technology to design and merchandising.
After earning my degree in Industrial Design from PUC,
the foremost private university in Rio de Janeiro,
I received a research grant from the Brazilian National
Council for Scientific and Technological Development.
While working there as an intern, I developed the first
website for Warner Music do Brasil. In addition, while
in university, I also provided electronic media design
consulting services for the municipal government’s film
production and distribution agency - RioFilme.
Music being one of my passions, I founded the female
rock band Staples in 1998, for which I have composed
several songs. Through the band's website, I began
selling its CDs and merchandise. After noting
an increasing demand from other bands for the same
type of service, I founded, in 2002, PunkShop, currently
the largest virtual store of its kind in South America,
with over 100,000 customers.
The success of Punkshop has led to other business
opportunities that range from the development
of merchandise for some of the biggest pop and music
icons, e-commerce consultation services, website
production, collaboration in producing shows, fashion
and design, just to name a few. Now I am located in Vancouver, BC - Canada and my goal is to continue building on my experience and success as a consultant in the aforementioned areas.
